January 6, 1918 – February 14, 2007
Shizue Fukuyama, 89 of Stockton passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in a local hospital. She was born on January 6, 1918 in Rumsey, California and had lived in Stockton for 69 years. Mrs. Fukuyama was a seasonal worker for Flotil/Tillie Lewis Cannery. She was a member of the Northern California Wakayama Kenjin Kai, Northern California Koyasan Temple, JACL, Stockton Buddhist Women's Association and the Stockton Buddhist Temple. Mrs. Fukuyama was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hiroshi Fukuyama; parents, Iwagoro Matsushita and Hisaye Hara; son, David A. Fukuyama; daughter, Amy E. Fukuyama; siblings, Masako Nakai, Ryuko Akao, Mary Yamamoto and Taira Matsushita. She is survived by daughter, Teruko Kelley and her husband, James; grandchildren, Yumi Fukuyama and Jon Fukuyama; great grandchild, Brandon Alvarado; siblings, Kimiyo Shironaka and George Matsushita. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St. Inurnment will be held at Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
