Stanley Scott Rodgers

Stanley Scott Rodgers, 60, of Pohatcong Township, NJ, died at Robert Wood Johnson Univ. Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ, after a four-month valiant fight against acute myelogenous leukemia. Born June 9, 1953, in Omer, Michigan, he was the only son of the late Stanley William and Christine A. Skinner Rodgers. He thoroughly enjoyed his childhood years fishing, hunting and camping on Lake Tawas in East Tawas, Michigan. Scott was an Associate Director of Global Regulatory Development for Sanofi, Bridgewater, NJ, for seven years. He made wonderful friends there who were enthusiastic cheerleaders during his illness. Scott was a voracious reader of military history. He was always on a quest to learn something new and had a phenomenal memory for knowledge he acquired. He loved to work on his machining metal lathe and other machining equipment. He spent many years building an as yet unfinished "hidey hole" for his toys, what a neighbor called Scott's "lifelong project." He enjoyed getting into mischief with neighbor Greg Brandt. Scott was incredibly proud of his daughter Rachel and her many talents and loved her beyond measure. Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, the former Sheila M. Hart, whom he met freshman year at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan; their daughter, Rachel Claire and her boyfriend David Hopper of Lancaster, Pa.; two foster brothers, Bucky and Bruce Harris. He will also be missed by his loving father and mother in-law, Bryan and Mary Hart; sisters-in-law Sharon Sefton and her husband, Bill; Denise Hart and her former husband, Jeff; brother-in-law, Kevin Hart and his wife, Sherrie, eight nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and nephews, and his beloved Labrador retrievers, Zoe, Trudy and Carson. Sheila and Rachel wish to thank all those who lovingly supported them during Scott's illness. A celebration of Scott's life will be held at the Mountain View Chalet, 154 Route 173, Asbury, NJ, 08802, phone (908) 735-4660. There will be no funeral or visitation hours.
