William Joseph Everly, 83, of Port Carbon, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born Oct. 25, 1937, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Stefanic) Everly.
Bill was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School in Pottsville. He served in the Navy from 1955 till 1958. Bill worked as a supervisor in charge of housekeeping at Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, for 20 years and then worked for the Pottsville Area School District in charge of outside maintenance until retiring.
Bill was a member of the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Saint Clair, and was a youth sports coach and a volunteer for Little and Teener League Baseball. He was also an avid fisherman.
Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrna (Kevy) Everly, Port Carbon; two sons, Michael Everly and his wife, Christina, Pfafftown, N.C., and Craig Everly and his wife, Lori, Pottsville; two brothers, Tom Everly, Phoenixville, and Fred, Columbia, Md.; a sister, Mary Ann Detwiler, Wernersville; a grandson, Alex Everly, Pottsville; two granddaughters, Cassandra and Ciara Everly, Pfafftown, N.C.; nieces and nephews.
Bill's family would like to thank Schuylkill Center for taking great care of him for the three years he was living there.
Funeral services will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's memory to either St. Clare of Assisi Church Memorial Fund or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Robert A.
