John Gallagher Obituary
John D. Gallagher, a lifelong resident of the Tarrytowns died peacefully at home with his family on November 22, 2016. John was 91. Born in North Tarrytown on March 22, 1925, he was the son of Daniel and Catherine Maher Gallagher. He was a graduate of North Tarrytown High School. John went on to serve in the United States Navy during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Charles Sperry.
On October 17, 1959, he married Eileen Lynch. John had worked in Customer Service for Con Edison for 35 years.
John will always be remembered for his love of family and golf. In addition to being an avid golfer, he was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox.
John is survived by his daughter Catherine A. (Bill) Morhous of Ossining and his granddaughter Michelle E. Morhous. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen in 2009 as well as his brother Dr. Daniel Gallagher and his sister Katherine.
Visitation will be on Friday at Coffey Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00 at the Church of the Magdalene with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. To leave condolences, visit www.coffeyfuneralhome.com
