Birties Alvoy Williams

DANVILLE, GA- Birties Alvoy Wiliams, 88, of Fourth St., passed away Thursday in Dublin.
Services will be held Saturday March 22, 2013 at 3:00PM in Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jeff Alligood, Rev. Billy Wicker, and Elder Franklin Bryant will officiate.
Mr. Williams was born in Dudley, GA the son of the late James B. and Eva Mullis Williams. He was preceded in death by his Sisters Margie DeLoach, and Lola Moye, and by his Brother Carlton Williams. Alvoy was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church. A Sixty Five year member of Cool Spring Masonic Lodge #185, and the Woodman of the World. He was a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy in World War II and was a Cook in the United States Army in the Korean War. Alvoy enjoyed traveling, fishing, working in his yards and going to Sunday School and Church.
Survivors include his Wife of 60 years, Vera B. Williams. Brother Johnny Williams and Sister Avis Taylor. Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 Saturday before the service in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Methodist Home at P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203 or to Serenity Hospice at 504 Parker Dairy Rd., Dublin, GA 31021.

I am so sorry for your loss of the most precious person in your life Vera. I have not known too many men who was as good and kind as Alvoy. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. I will miss his wave and smile.
