Edna Eaton Obituary

Edna L. Eaton, 102, of Rome, died February 14, 2022 at Oneida Healthcare ECF. She was born April 19, 1919 in the Town of Steuben, the daughter of William and Effie Reed Shaw. On May 30, 1941 she was united in marriage to Norman E. Campbill at the Western Parsonage. He was killed in Germany during WWII on December 2, 1944. On July 14, 1946 Edna married Ronald S. Eaton. He passed away January 1, 1991.

Edna worked in grocery stores in Rome and Oneida and later for Oneida Ltd. She returned to Rome in September 1992. Edna was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Golden Years Group.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including a nephew, Francis Evans and his wife, Joan of Ava; and a great niece Jennifer Coldren, Rome. Edna was predeceased by six sisters, Reda Shaw, Ada Fayette, Violet Evans, Florence Barnard, Sarah Baumann, and Effie Evans, and a niece Carol E. Brooks.

The family would like to thank the staff of Terrace at Woodland Assisted Living and Oneida Healthcare ECF for their wonderful care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome.
