Scott Morey Obituary
WATERVILLE - Scott Anthony Morey, Sr., 53, passed away Dec. 16, 2014 at Inland Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 19, 1961 in Waterville, the son of Wilfred N. And Jean (Cuthbertson) Morey.
He was educated in local area schools and graduated from Waterville High School in 1979. On Jan. 15, 1983, he married Norma Varney in Waterville. Scott was employed by JD Groundscapes for the past 15 years as foreman and worked with good friend and boss, Jason Douin. He spent 4 years serving his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He loved camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors, but above all else, loved spending time with family and friends.
Scott is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Norma (Varney) Morey; three sons, Scott A. Morey Jr. And wife Jessica of Gardiner, Terry K. Morey and wife Ginny of Oakland, Shawn A. Morey and significant other Teakesha of Fairfield; three brothers, Wilfred "Kim" Morey and wife Tony of Dade County, Fla., Robert Morey of Lisbon, Wayne Morey and wife Jane of Augusta, sister, Karen Emerson and husband Keith of Augusta; many nieces, nephews; and beloved grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Patrick Morey (1/23/2008); sister, Marcia Rogers (1/18/2012).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, Maine 04976.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing, may make donations in Scott's memory to the Scott Morey, Sr. Memorial Fund, c/of New Dimensions Federal Credit Union, 61 Grove Street, Waterville, Maine 04901 or 72 Cony Street, Augusta, Maine 04330.

Scott, it was 42 years ago at Pleasant Street School that I met you on the playground during a game of Dodgeball in fifth grade. You were that kid who made me feel welcome, having just started at a new school. You were the kid who took the time to smile at the kid who felt timid after leaving a private school (Mount Merici) with
discipline and starting anew at another school with no discipline.
Scott, I wish now that I had somehow kept in touch all those years ago. Unfortunately though, life's plans and careers change all of that over the years.
