Florence Anderson Obituary

Florence Ann Anderson
Bear Lake Twp., Manistee
April 28, 1922 - October 27, 2022
Florence Ann Czarnecki Anderson, 100, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her home in Chief (Bear Lake Township).
Florence was born April 28, 1922, in Manistee, the daughter of Michael and Sadie (Smogolecki) Czarnecki.
Florence retired as a probate court register after farming for many years on the Anderson Apples family farm. She worked as a stenographer at Filer Fiber while caring of her mother, who had suffered a stroke. After her mother passed away, Flo met Ray, immediately identifying him as "the man I'm going to marry!" They were married August 2, 1952, at Guardian Angels' Rectory.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Onekama, serving with its Ladies Guild and as a lector. For years she sent 50-100 cards monthly to shut-ins, those who were ill or who just needed a pick-me-up. She was a Manistee County Farm Bureau member for 69 years and a past county president. An advocate for farmworkers through the county migrant services and education programs, she was also active in Women for the Survival of Agriculture in Michigan (WSAM). Florence co-anchored TV 7&4's Saturday morning farm show, was active with the Manistee County Fair, 4-H, and as PTO president, volunteering countless hours at school concession stands.
Florence knew no ceilings and persevered through whatever life offered. She was driven to feed as many people as she could, as much as she could, as often as she could, and in as brief a time as possible!
Florence is survived by her daughter Kris (Lyle) Reene; sons Craig (Jody) Anderson and Kermit (Beth) Anderson; daughter Kari Brown; grandchildren Jason Reene, Jonathan (Carrie) Reene, Jared Reene and Whitney Moss, Eric (Audrey) Anderson, Britta Anderson, Dana (Noah) Norman, Lia Anderson, Sarah Brown, Emily Anderson, Megan Anderson, Sasha Anderson, and Roma Anderson; great-grandson, Coleson Anderson; nephew Gordon (Frieda) Wilson; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Anderson; brothers David and George; sister Bernadine; and her parents.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service that will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee with Father Ruben Munoz officiating.
Friends and family will also be welcome at a funeral mass and celebration of life in the spring of 2023; date to be announced.
In memory of Florence, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church Food Pantry in Onekama.

Very sorry for your loss. Flo was one of my Mom Annette Peterson's good friends. She was such a special lady. Always corresponding with my Mom either by mail or phone. She will greatly be missed by all who knew her.

There will never be another Flo! We met shortly after moving up north, at church. Hard worker, loving, kind, friendly, funny. She made everyone happy. Not enough good words to describe Flo! I'll miss her soooo much.
