Vivian Forbis Obituary
MARION - Vivian Rose Forbis, age 99 of Atoka, TN and formerly of Marion, passed away on March 9, 2021 at her home in Atoka.
She was born August 31, 1921 in Hepburn, OH, daughter of the late Hugh M. and Ethel Gladys (Eberhart) Greer. Vivian attended Harding High School and graduated in the class 1939 and went on to attend 2 years of college. Vivian worked for Ward Stillson Dress Company, Hunkin- Conkey Construction Company, U.S. Rubber Company, and at Scioto Indiana Plant 838th Air Division in 1944 where she was crowned "Queen". Vivian's retired as a typist for the Marion Ordinance Depot.
She married the love of her life Raymond A. Forbis on July 4, 1942 in Greenup, Kentucky.
Vivian loved to bake and try new recipes. When she wasn't in the kitchen she would be quilting, gardening and shopping. Vivian was an avid antique glassware collector. Her favorite place to vacation was on the shores of Sarasota, Florida. Vivian's favorite pastimes included going to auctions and casinos. She was most happy when entertaining her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Garrison of Atoka, TN; grandchildren: Gregory (Angie) Ault of Atoka, TN, Jered (Shana) Garrison of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Alisyn and Sarah Rose Ault of Atoka, TN, and Nate and Elliott Rose Garrison of Omaha, NE; and brother Clarence (Sally) Greer of La Rue, OH.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Raymond A. Forbis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 10AM-11AM at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel, 360 East Center Street, Marion; services will immediately following at 11AM; burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in Vivian's memory, can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Marion County Humane Society.
