Bennie Bidwell Obituary

Bennie Dearl Bidwell
July 4, 1931 - Jan. 4, 2017
Bennie Bidwell was born on July 4, 1931 in Tornillo, Texas. He passed away peacefully in Modesto on January 4, 2017. He was born to Tip and Jennie Bidwell. His brother Dale arrived two minutes ahead of Bennie, making him the youngest of seven children. Dale and Bennie were affectionately known as the "Firecracker Twins."
Bennie fought in the Korean War from 1952 to 1953. His service to his country earned him many awards including three bronze service medals. He resided for a few years in Oklahoma, Arizona, and Nevada, however, he eventually ended up back in Modesto where his family had moved when he was a child.  He worked in several trades, including truck driver, carpenter, and professional gambler.
He is survived by his children Michael Bidwell of Oakdale, Pamela Carr of Oklahoma, Bennie Bidwell of Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer/Dementia Support Center, 700 McHenry Ave. Ste. B, Modesto, CA 95350.
