Gerald "Jerry" Deller was born in Long Beach, CA to loving parents, Pete and Peggy Deller on August 5, 1948. He entered into rest on December 11, 2018 in Modesto, CA at the age of 70. Early in his life, Jerry served as a Captain in the US Air Force. He was a loving husband, a member of Ceres Rotary for many years, and served on the St. Stanislaus Finance Council. He was a proud businessman in the local community where he worked as a CPA. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed clogging, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by loving wife of 36 years, Carolyn Deller, as well as his siblings: Tom Deller, Jim Deller, Bob Deller, Theresa Ingram, Janet Sorenson, and Ken Deller.
Franklin and Downs Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Deller Family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1200 Maze Blvd, Modesto, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jerry's honor to a Catholic charity of your own choosing.

I knew Jerry in the Air Force when we were both KC-135Q pilots at Beale AFB back in the early 1970's. We were good friends then and had a lot of good times together. He was such a great guy, excellent pilot, and fun and happy person. I was just looking up old USAF people and his death came up. I am so sorry to hear about it and wish we had maintained contact through the years.

Our most sincere condolences go out to you as you go through the grieving and healing process. Jerry was a wonderful person and a great CPA for our business and family for nearly 30 years. I'll never forget and will truly miss our yearly conversations while he was in Aptos for the holidays as the conversation would always begin with business which would usually be handled in a few minutes, but somehow would always take a personal turn that would last much longer. If there is ever anything that we can assist you with on the new solar system, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Jerry will truly be missed.

Carolyn, I am so very sorry for your loss. Jerry was such a wonderful person, always willing to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with our local professional community, always with such a positive outlook on life, and always wanting the best for you.

Carolyn, even though we never met Jerry always spoke about you when I had our taxes done. Jerry did our taxes for 36 years, and I was always the first person to schedule my appointment. It was already set for February, I'm sorry I won't ever see his smiling face again. When my husband died unexpectedly in August, Jerry sent me the most compassionate, heartfelt email. It was read at his funeral. Carolyn, I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I do understand what you are going through, as I'm just 4 months into mine. There is a great site for widows, soaringspirits.org. It has helped me immensely and may be something to help with your grieving.
