Marjorie Bartholomew Obituary

ARENZVILLE - Marjorie "Marge" Elaine (Buhlig) Bartholomew, 77, of Arenzville died unexpectedly Friday, July 24, 2015, at her vacation home at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.

She was born at the home of her parents, the late Howard and Eula (Gregory) Buhlig, near Naples on April 8, 1938. She was a 1956 graduate of Bluffs High School and attended Western Illinois University.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard "Dick" Bartholomew; along with their four children, Tim (wife, Kellie) Bartholomew of Arenzville, Brad (wife, Alesha) Bartholomew of Stevenson Ranch, California, Ed (wife, Gail ) Bartholomew of Jacksonville and Jill (husband, Jason) Kitterman of Rock Island; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Buhlig (surviving wife, Janice of Bluffs).

Her professional career included managing the Bread of Love meal program in Arenzville from 1983 to 2008, for which she was recognized by the Illinois Secretary of State. Her interests and activities centered on Arenzville United Methodist Church, where she served as a member and officer in the United Methodist Women and the Night Circle.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Arenzville United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Arenzville East Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials may be made to Arenzville United Methodist Church or Arenzville Fire and Rescue.
