Martha G. Llewellyn

1947 - 2016

Martha G. (nee Gedye) Llewellyn, 68, of Joliet, and formerly Jacksonville, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

She was born April 30, 1947, to the late Elmeta (nee Donovan) and Eugene Gedye in LaSalle, where she was raised and educated, a graduate with the class of 1965 from LaSalle-Peru High School. Martha also attended Mid State Business College in Peoria. It was during this time that she began corresponding with her future husband of 48 years, the Rev. Clark Llewellyn who was in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Key West, Florida.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two sons, Aaron Llewellyn (fiancee, Hattie Doyle) and Benjamin (Maria Rees) Llewellyn, both of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Anna Kersey, James Rhys; Isabella Grace "Scooter," Eden Vey and Elliott Rae; one brother, William (Lori) Gedye of Marion, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Phyllis Gabriel; and one brother, Tommy Gedye.

Martha was employed for numerous years at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. She was a faithful witness to her Lord and obedient in the use of her spiritual gifts. A faithful student of the Word (having memorized the Book of James).

Funeral services for Martha G. Llewellyn will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday at Families of Faith Church, 24466 W. Eames St. (Rt. 6), Channahon, IL 60410 where visitation will take place 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Woodwreath Cemetery in New Berlin.
