Aaron Joel Rodgers

Aaron Joel Rodgers died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 after a long illness. He was born in Albuquerque on June 15, 1959 and lived his entire life in the Albuquerque area. He graduated from Highland High School in 1977. He was married to Katherine Rose (Naranjo) Rodgers for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Robert Timothy (Daphne Valdez) Rodgers, Ashley Tara (Nathan) Morrell, and Monica Ann Rodgers. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Rory Annemarie Rodgers, Orion Nemophilist Mares, and Everett Thomas Morrell. He is further survived by three of his siblings: Greg (Hermalinda) Rodgers, Robyn Claire Rodgers, and Teresa Mae (Richard) Blakemore; his stepmother, Charlene Rodgers, and his father-in-law, Benny Naranjo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Everette Rodgers and Beverly Jean Rodgers; a brother, Timothy Beaven Rodgers; a granddaughter, Adelaide Reinette Morrell; his mother-in-law, Amy Naranjo; and his dog, Hunny.

Aaron owned and worked for Gamblin Rodgers Electrical Contractors with his father for 35 years. He was the solo-owner of NMECO for 5 years. For more than 30 years, he was an active member of Executives Association of Greater Albuquerque (EAGA). An organization that gave him camaraderie and business acuity, and lifelong friendships.

Aaron was a prize-winning gardener and photographer at the New Mexico State Fair for numerous years. He made the best salads around. He loved hunting and shotgun sports, including trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Despite his illness, he took time this summer to teach his grandsons to fish. He lived to eat but did not eat to live. He had a very gregarious personality and many friends.

A "Celebration of Life" for Aaron will be held later.
