Albert Kellis Moore, of Natchez, passed away peacefully Friday, February 7, 2025 at Choctaw General Hospital in Butler, Alabama.
Kellis (as his family called him) was born August 19, 1944 in Union, Mississippi. Kellis graduated in 1963 with the first graduating class of West Lauderdale High School.
His pride and joy was his family. He spent much time sharing stories about his beloved children, grandchildren, and finally his great-grandchildren. If not bragging about his family or sharing a funny story, he was always quick with a joke and loved to make people laugh, living up to his title of wittiest from his high school class.
AK (as his friends called him) retired from Adams County where he was a road foreman. In his retirement years, he had a small business where usually the same group of friends gathered daily to socialize, watch a game, or play cards.
Kellis is survived by his children, Troy Kellis Moore (Leigh), Tracy Moore Stockton (Jimmy); grandchildren, Ashley Gray (Neal), Trent Moore (Jenna), Brandon Vanderford (Kimberly) Austin Moore (fiancé Meg Little), and Lane Moore; and three great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Other survivors include his sisters, Tiny Ann Brock, Mae Doerner, Patsy Griffin, Kay Daugherty, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kellis was preceded in death by his father, Albert Moore; his mother, Nellie Moore; his sister, Rachel Moore Ingram; and a brother, Spencer Moore.
The family will celebrate his life at a later date.
