Alechia Beasley-Norwood Obituary

She graduated from Pine Forest High School in 1985 where she excelled in academics, was voted most popular of her senior class and was the first black captain of the cheerleading squad. After studying at Southern University for a semester, Alechia decided she wanted to be closer to her mother and relocated to Gary, Indiana. Here, she dedicated her life to Christ and became a devoted Christian. She also discovered her love for community service and became a Registered Nurse. She was a dedicated Oncology, ER and Dialysis nurse for over 20 years. In 2018 she established Northwest Ambulance Services of Northwest Indiana. The company employed 12 people including her nieces: Cassidy, Ashley, and Reagan. Alechia leaves in mourning her loving husband Bermon, her devoted sister Cynthia, her loving aunt Myrtle (Freddie), Novella Beasley-Broughton, an uncle Lerone (Frankie), a host of cousins and friends.

Grateful unto you God for all the time you allowed me to spend with Alechia. I remember three great things i loved about Alechia: smile, kindness and determination. Alechia smile lights up a room and everytime i see her smile makes me want to smile no matter how my day was going. Alechia spreaded her kindness to everybody she met by helping others no matter what they needed. Alechia determination to be great at whatever she did and encouraged others to be determined also. Alechia is missed because of all the memories people made with her and how she touched so many people. Praying for comfort, peace, strength, love and togetherness for Alechia's Family and friends.
