Alex Andrulis passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, at the age of 95. A quiet man with deep strength and many talents, he lived a life defined by commitment, craftsmanship, and quiet integrity.

Born on March 24, 1930, in Hart, Michigan, Alex was a gifted athlete, running track and field in high school and at Michigan State University, where he earned numerous medals for his performance. After graduating from Michigan State, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force National Guard, achieving the rank of Captain.

In 1958, he married Patricia "Patsy," his first great love, and together they raised three children. A man who led by example more than by words, Alex spent his evenings building the family's home with his own hands. A skilled carpenter, he filled it with handcrafted furniture and even built a redwood canoe that the family used on countless outings across local lakes and rivers in Michigan. Alex was known for his dry sense of humor bordering on the mischievous, quiet kindness, and remarkable self-reliance. After Patsy's passing in 1993, he was fortunate to find joy again with Joyce, his loving companion, for the rest of his life. Together, they spent many happy years traveling, dancing, dining, and simply enjoying one another's company.

Alex is survived by his children: Eileen (partner Kevin), Joe (Kathleen), and Paul (G'nee), Grandfather of Carly, Bridget, Kelly, Heather, Morgan, Jarrett (Cayley), Tanner, Alec and the late Adam. He is also lovingly remembered by Joyce and all who were touched by his steady presence and generous heart.

A service celebrating Alex's life will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, Willowbrook, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to share stories and memories in an informal, welcoming setting. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America in Alex's memory.

Alex lived with quiet dignity and left a legacy of love, strength, and craftsmanship. He will be dearly missed and remembered with deep affection.
