Mr. Alton Bradshaw

Funeral services for Mr. Alton Bradshaw, 86, of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Singleton and Bro. John DePresca officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-3:00 p.m. Sunday August 4, 2024, at Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Mr. Alton Eugene Bradshaw was born May 1, 1938, in Shelby County, Texas. He passed this life August 2, 2024, in Carthage, Texas. Alton was one of three children born to the marriage of Thomas Jewell and Lorena Scott Bradshaw. He was raised and schooled in Shelby, County. He married his love Mamie Oleigh Powell and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage and three children.
Mr. Bradshaw worked in carpentry and painting construction. He loved his Lord and family and was raised in the Church of Christ. He loved any time with family, working in his garden fields, raising turnips to pumpkins and sharing all with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Bradshaw is survived by his loving wife, Mamie Bradshaw of Carthage; children, Carolyn DePresca and husband John of Carthage, Ricky Bradshaw and wife Tammy of Deadwood, Mandy Drawhorn of Carthage; brother, Hershel Bradshaw of Center; sister, Yvonne Phillips of Phoenix City, AL; grandchildren, Justin Whitby and wife Jennifer of Gary, Brandon Bradshaw of Longview, Adam Drawhorn and wife Lauren of FT. Worth; numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Brandon Bradshaw, Justin Whitby, Jeremy Whitby, Bryce Bradshaw, Jackson Whitby and Brycen DeWitt.
