Arthur Lewis Obituary
Arthur Neal Lewis, 65, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025.
The family will celebrate his life at a later date.
Arthur was born on August 8, 1959, in Morehead City, NC. A skilled builder and repairer, Arthur had a fulfilling career working as a general contractor in Carteret County, where he lived for most of his life.
Arthur’s hobbies included buying, restoring, and selling vehicles and boats. He loved the thrill of drag racing and spending time out on the boat with his close friend, Freddie.
Above all, Arthur adored his children and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Ayres; daughter, Delilah Lewis Cowan of Newport; son, Landon Lewis Cowan of Newport; stepdaughter, Brooklynne Book of Newport; sister, Heidi Bolneo (Carlos) of Newport; brother, David Lewis of Newport; and niece and nephews, Carley, Noah, and Luke.
Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lewis Sr.; mother and stepfather, Alice and Pete Durham; and brother, Richard Lewis Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his children.
