Barbara J. (Oliver) Christensen, died Tuesday November 2, 2021. She was born to the late Ozro and Clara Oliver on May 18, 1932, in Waukegan, IL. On October 11, 1979, she married Arthur E. Christensen, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2017. For many years they lived a fun-filled life in Las Vegas.
Barbara was an excellent waitress at various supper clubs in the area such as Wally's Spot Supper Club, The Zuider Zee, The Downtowner, Holiday Inn and The Left Guard. She loved to golf, go to movies and travel.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Bruce (Deb), Kellerman, Glen (Kathy) Kellerman, Lisa Koenig, and Tracy (Robi) Minies; her grandchildren, Steven Kellerman, Kasey (Steven) Collings, Christian Minies, Kennedy (Lucca) Viana, Alex (Mercedes) Spielbauer, Reese Koenig and Katelyn Kellerman; great-grandchildren Addison, Lauren, Celine, Kameron, London, Jordyn and Keaton. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Nancy Valentine, Tom (Maureen) Christensen, Doug (Tom) Christensen, Scott (Lori) Christensen, and Jay Christensen, and very special family friends Rick and Becky Chernick.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, with Rev. Earl Vorpagel officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest at Fort Howard Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rennes who took care of our mother with such love and kindness.
