Barbara L. (Innocenti) Healy, 73 of Whitman, passed away on July 6, after losing her battle with Dementia. She was born in the "Brickyard" section of Lynn to the late Frederick A. Innocenti and Norma Innocenti-Morley. Barbara was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. On May 2, 1971, she married the love of her life Bob Healy and eventually settled in Whitman where they raised three daughters.
How can one sum up an incredible life in a few short paragraphs? It's impossible, but we will try. Barbara was a remarkable person. She was outgoing, smart, beautiful, and had an incredible sense of humor. She loved to dance, cook, bake, and shop. You could always find her in the kitchen cooking up something amazing. Generous and loving, she was there to help anyone in need, especially animals. She had many active roles; volunteering as a CCD teacher and at the Haunted House. She was an Administrative Assistant for the town of Whitman for 12 years. In 1990 she was elected Selectman for the Town of Whitman and was later appointed Town Business Manager. She was a realtor, manager at the Olde Hitching Post, Uniform Specialist at Doughboy Police and Fire, as well as the manager at several retail stores.
Barbara is survived by her husband Bob Healy of Whitman; daughter April Montes and her husband Pablo Montes of Whitman; daughter Lynne (Healy) Norton of Whitman; daughter Colleen Perry and her husband Joshua Perry of Smithfield, RI; her sisters Elaine Daley of Lynn; Paula Coutu and her husband Mark of Tennessee; Karen Wonoski and her husband Ken of Beverly, Ma. She was the best Nana to Cole, Olivia, Ryan, Abby, Alex, Gabriella, Daelyn, Natalia, Everly, and Mariana. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who she cherished dearly.
Family and friends are invited to attend Barbara's visiting hours Thursday July 11, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. All are welcome to meet at Blanchard's Friday July 12, at 9:45 AM and then proceed to the Holy Ghost church for a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. A burial will follow at Colebrook cemetery, Whitman.
