Betty Sharp (Hawkins) Pines was born July 28, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born to George and Zoula (Sharp) Hawkins. Betty grew up near Darien, Missouri. She graduated with the class of 1948 from Salem High School.
Betty was united in marriage November 28, 1947, to the love of her life, Arthur "Todd" Eugene Pines. They shared together sixty-seven years before his passing April 13, 2015. Betty and Todd were blessed with four children: Marilyn, Janet, Nancy, and Robert.
Betty was a dedicated homemaker and took great pride in raising her family and caring for her home. She loved her family and cherished times together by preparing "comfort food" that they each liked. Betty treasured her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren; they were her pride and joy.
Betty was exceptionally gifted with her hands and loved to sew, often sharing her talent with others. Betty wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She loved tending to her flower beds and was an avid gardener, often sharing her bounty.
Betty was a member of Second Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her health no longer allowed. She was a lady of great faith, loved gathering with others, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Betty entered into eternal rest January 22, 2023, in Salem, Missouri at the age of ninety-two years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, loving children: Nancy Eudy and husband Randy of Salem, MO and Robert "Bob" Pines of Sullivan, MO; grandchildren: Beth Anne Eudy of Osage Beach, MO, Julie Maggio of Montpelier, LA, Michael Gibbs of Salem, MO, Chris Pines of Sullivan, MO, and Justin Pines of Sullivan, MO; six great-grandchildren; extended family and dear friends.
Preceding her in death, loving husband: Arthur "Todd" Pines; daughters: Marilyn (Pines) Dent and Jane (Pines) Gibbs; parents: George and Zoula Hawkins; brothers: Harold Hawkins and Starring Hawkins; and sister: Jude Anne Wilkins.
Betty experienced a life well-lived. She was one of a kind and a joy to be around. Her sassy personality, outspokenness, and big friendly smile will be missed by all.
