Burnette W. (Dins) Nisler, age 95, of Mount Calvary, formerly of New Holstein, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
She was born May 11, 1927, to William and Katherine (Foertsch) Dins. On November 5, 1952, she married Joseph Nisler at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. Her husband preceded her in death on January 21, 1995.
In addition to raising her eight children, Burnette worked at various businesses in New Holstein: including Silver Moon Mink Ranch, Hipke Canning Factory, and the Eagles Club in Chilton. She volunteered at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse in New Holstein as well as at the former Calumet Homestead Nursing Home. Burnette, along with other local women, would visit the area home-bound residents, through the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Burnette was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, the Christian Women's Society, and the New Holstein American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her seven children, Glenn (Liana) Nisler of Bealeton, VA, Gordon (Sonja) Nisler of Kasilof, AK, Barbara (Daniel) Freund of Fond du Lac (Johnsburg), Greg (Joan) Nisler of New Holstein, Gene (Sara) Nisler of Racine (Caledonia), Dawn (Randall) Rieder of Fond du Lac (St. Peter), Kay (Michael) Galioto of Neenah; grandchildren, Anna Nisler, Alexandre Nisler, Amy (Brian) King, Nicole (Kevin) Hanke, Eric (Andrea) Freund, Jason (Tracy) Freund, Adam (Jennifer) Nisler, Benjamin (Kelsey) Nisler, Sarah (Daniel) Schaefer, Samuel (Katelyn) Nisler, Joshua (Joslyn) Nisler, Hannah Nisler, Katie Rieder, Erin Rieder, Addison Galioto; great-grandchildren, Alyssa & Reese King, Dane, Aubrianne, & Julia Freund, Brady & Cole Freund, Kaden, Logan, & Emmett Nisler, Roman, Conan, & Lucian Schaefer, and Oliver Nisler; her brother, Norman Dins. Burnette is further survived by nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Joseph; son, Gary Nisler; three sisters; and three brothers.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Michael Petrie will officiate with Deacon Dennis Bennin assisting. Burnette will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Burnette's family at the Holy Rosary Church on Monday, October 3rd from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM.
