Carmel Owens

Carmel Frances Owens of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 at age 87.
Carmel was born on December 24, 1935 to parents Elizabeth Evoy Carew and Henry Carew in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada and had 8 brothers and 6 sisters. Carmel immigrated to the United States in 1958 as a young military bride. She raised 4 children, Judy, Robert, Lori and Michael. In 1979, Carmel married Ralph Ellsworth Owens, Jr. who eventually achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant at Tinker Air Force Base.
Carmel enjoyed many hobbies & activities including roller & ice skating, water skiing, playing bingo, dancing and singing.
Carmel was preceded in death her husband, Ralph Ellsworth Owens, Jr. She is survived by her three sisters, Betty, Sheila and Margie; her children, Judy Armstrong of Bakersfield, CA, Robert Campbell of Lake Isabella, CA, Lori Reck of St. Louis, MO and Michael Williams of Oklahoma City, OK; Carmel was beloved "Nana" to grandchildren, Jonathan, Renee, Stephanie, Chris, Brandon, Audrey, Matthew, Patrick, Jennifer, Ethan & Weston as well as to 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will privately celebrate the life of our beloved Carmel, mom, & nana - no formal service is planned.
