Harold "Mike" Owens

Harold “Mike” Owens, 78, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on August 18, 1947, in Laurens County, SC, to the late George Harold Owens and Kathleen Sumerel Owens. Mike will be remembered for a multitude of things, most notably his loyalty to Clemson. He adopted Pine Knolls Golf Course as a second home, and you could always find him there cutting up and laughing with his Pine Knolls family. Mike was a people-person through and through and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and would often secretly pay the tab of strangers at restaurants. Mike enjoyed eating out, meeting new people, and spending time with friends and family. Mike was also set in his faith and was a member of Triad Baptist Church, and for a short time served as a tenor in the choir. He will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Tina Renee Owens.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Meredith Bryant (Shannon); granddaughter Morgan Turney (Chase); sisters, Janice Owens and Susan Yuzakewich (Michael); his long time companion, Carolyn Marshall; as well as nieces, a nephew, and a large loving extended family at Pine Knolls Golf Course.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to Pine Knolls Golf Course at 1100 Quail Hollow Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284, with the memo “Mike Owens Memorial Fund”.
