Carolyn R. Sharp

Carolyn Ruth Sharp, age 68, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born October 1, 1954.
Carol, as she was affectionately known, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had worked as a housekeeper at Thomas Hospital. Carol enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching in her spare time.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma Jean Dillon and James Walter Merideth, Sr.; her husband, Robert Earl Sharp; sons, Rodney, Randy and Richard Fontenot; great-granddaughter, Ava Renee Edge; sister, Thelma Merideth; and brothers, Mike and Ricky Merideth.
She is survived by her son, Rodger (Danyel) Fontenot; daughters, Theresa (Monique) Wolfe and Tami (Jeff) Patton; a special granddaughter, Savannah Fontenot, whom she raised; and two step-children, Tansy (John) Ridings and Randall (Amanda) Sharp; 16 grandchildren, Victoria, Savannah, Noah, Jayden, Allie and Lillie, Riley, Logan, Harley, Brittney, Michaela, MiKenzee, Lauren, Megan, Owen and Comet; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Brody and Paisley. She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby Dillon, Mickey "Buster" Morgan and Jack Dillon; daughter-in-law, April Reed; and her beloved fur-baby, Pearl.
The family would like to thank Community Hospice for the care they provided and especially her nurses, Beth Hicks and Nene Ricks.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, at 3:00PM. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation before the service beginning at 2:00PM.
