Thomas John "Tom" Sharp
January 12, 1952 – October 17, 2025
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend
Thomas John "Tom" Sharp, 73, of Midvale, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Tom's life was a testament to faith, compassion, and quiet strength.
Born on January 12, 1952, in Murray, Utah, Tom was the cherished son of Virgil and Betty Sharp. From a young age, his life was marked by service and a deep love for others. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tom lived each day guided by his faith, striving to embody the principles of the gospel and encouraging others to do the same.
Tom is survived by his loving children-Jason, Jared, James, and Cassie-as well as his treasured grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. He was a devoted father who valued time together above all else, always creating special moments for his family.
Tom married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Deborah "Debbie" Sharp, with whom he shared a beautiful life built on kindness, faith, and adventure. They spent many happy years exploring Utah's canyons, boating on Lake Powell, and enjoying the outdoors together. When Debbie's health declined, Tom cared for her with the same devotion and tenderness he had once shown to his mother-a reflection of his selfless and compassionate nature.
Tom had a true gift for painting and drawing and found joy in the simple things-especially Sunday dinners surrounded by family. His calming presence, warm smile, and nonjudgmental spirit made people naturally gravitate toward him. He had the rare ability to turn everyday conversations into moments of comfort and wisdom.
Above all, Tom's greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandchildren, who adored their grandfather and will carry his love with them always.
His family takes solace and comfort in the knowledge that Tom has been reunited with his sweetheart Debbie and his beloved son Jake.
Those who knew Tom remember him as inspiring, kind, and endlessly giving. His presence brought peace, his example lifted others, and his love will continue to guide us. Tom was a daily source of strength and joy-whose absence will be deeply felt.
Thomas John Sharp leaves behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. May his memory bring peace to all who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 6770 S 500 E, Midvale, Utah 84047. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral, the interment will take place at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S Vine St, Murray, Utah 84107
