Carol Lee Sharp passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born in Ogden, Utah, on August 12, 1944, and lived a life marked by creativity, independence, and a lasting appreciation for the outdoors.
In 1964, Carol married Bill Sharp in Ogden. Together, they shared more than fifty years of marriage exploring the mountains and deserts they loved, often in their ATV or while spending winters along the Colorado River near Parker, Arizona. After Bill's passing, Carol continued returning to Parker each winter, where she remained part of a close community of friends who shared her love of the desert.
A talented and meticulous crafter, Carol was well known for her handmade cards created through Stampin' Up. She poured care into each design and often fulfilled requests from friends and family who admired her creativity. She also enjoyed bringing people together; organizing rock-painting sessions, building Lego plants, and attending potlucks that combined laughter, good food, and friendship.
Carol loved to fish, to cook, and to travel throughout the mountain and desert regions of the West, always finding comfort in familiar places and routines. Those who visited her will remember her as an exceptional host who made guests feel at home and well fed. She also adored her cats, who were her loyal companions wherever she went.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sharp, and her parents, Bill and Shirley Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Doughty, and son-in-law, DJ Doughty; her son, Christopher Sharp, and daughter-in-law, Amie Sharp; her brother, Craig Smith; her sister, Terry McCallum; and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Per her wishes, no public service will be held, but private family arrangements will honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, Carol's family recommend offering a small donation to one of the charities below:
