Charlie “Charles” Thomas Murray, 78, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 in the comfort of his home in St. George, GA. He was born October 1, 1944 in Leesburg, Florida to the late Ernest Edward Buddy Murray and Elouise Shorty Noles.
Charlie attended Saint George Baptist Church and was a devoted Georgia Bulldog fan. He enjoyed spending time working in his gardens, creating masterpieces in his workshop, and spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, Carol, created an amazing life together and despite everything life threw at them, they stood together hand in hand till the end.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert “Sammy” Murray and Karen Touchton.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Faye Murray; Children: Charles (Jennifer) Murray, Sr, and Tina (Steven) Ruis; Grandchildren: Shelby (Michael) Farmer, Christopher (Bailey) Murray, Charles (Taylor) Murray, Jr, and Ashley Murray; Great-Grandchildren: Maylee Farmer, Marley Farmer, Russell Dean Farmer, Khloe Murray and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 at St. George Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 6-8pm in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home.
