The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Christy was born and raised in Goldsboro. She moved to Greenville to attend East Carolina University, where she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. After graduation, Christy traveled throughout the United States as a travel nurse. She then settled down in Greenville and was employed by Vidant Medical Center and ECU Health. Christy taught clinicals for both Pitt Community College and East Carolina University students. She was nominated for multiple nursing awards. During that time she met and married Nick Steward, the love of her life. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Kendall and Hudson. She was a firm believer in family first. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Christy loved people, she loved taking care of them and was extraordinarily compassionate with her patients and loved to tell jokes.
She is survived by her:
husband, Nicholas Brett Steward;
daughter, Kendall Grace Steward;
son, Hudson Luke Steward;
mother, Catherine Harrell Taylor;
father, Richard Leonard Hill and stepmom, Pamela Vail Hill;
brothers, David Leonard Hill and Jeffrey Luke Hill;
sister, Stephanie Lauren Hill; and
several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 – 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
