Clara Maire Collins 68, of Tomahawk, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was born Columbus, OH on January 19, 1957 to the late Joseph Mollett Sr. and Irene Sisco Mollett.
Clara grew up in Tomahawk playing with her siblings and cousins. Clara loved school and learning, and read everything she could get her hands on. Clara had a love for music, sharing that love with her brother Joe. Clara and Joe played in local venues. He would play and she would sing. Clara and Billy started dating in December 1975. They got married in February of 1976. They started a family. Clara and Billy came close to losing their family twice in the Eighties. She endured with faith and kindness. She expressed her faith in our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah, and got baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses in 1983. She spent alot of time with family, especially her mom Irene and Dad Joseph. In 1990 Clara and Billy welcomed a third child a boy, Jeremy. The 90's seemed to fly by. Late 90s Clara went to college to became an RN. She really applied herself to all her classes. She graduated with honors top of her nursing class. Clara went right to work at Highlands regional medical center. She was an excellent Nurse. Her patients were always treated like she would treat her own family. She made so many friends throughout the years of her nursing career. Clara retired in 2022 Clara loved everyone she met and had special bonds with the people she worked with. Clara loved with her whole heart. She was a wonderful cook for her family. Clara loved to travel and take beach trips. Clara loved sharing her faith in the Christian ministry sharing the kingdom message of Gods promises with ones from door to door or even someone she just met out and about. Above all else Clara was a true friend and a kind hearted person who always gave to others. Clara's children and grandchildren knew what it meant to always have someone in their corner. Her grandchildren were her world she would've walked thru fire for them. Clara loved so many things and had a few hobbies. She loved reading and cooking crocheting, taking pictures, was quite the artist and could sing beautifully. Clara had some hard things happen in her life, but always relied on Jehovah and a little bit of elbow grease. Clara's love of animals, led to her getting a small house dog Roxie, and then a Cockatiel Shelby. Billy and Clara loved life and shared many happy times. Celebrated all the big moments in life together. Clara was so happy to see Billy dedicate his life to Jehovah in 2022. Of all the things Billy and Clara shared, this was one of the greatest blessings. Clara also was happy to get to witness her grandsons dedicate their lives to Jehovah in 2023. Clara loved watching her grandsons graduations and special moments. Clara also loved watching her Nieces and nephews weddings and graduations. Clara always took as many pictures and spent as much time with her dear family as possible. Clara believed in the resurrection promise, that ones will be brought back to life. As it states in John 5:28,29. She helped others to learn about this promise. Soon Jehovah will put an end to all death, tears and pain. Clara our dear mother, aunt, sister, cousin, friend and loving wife to Billy will always be remembered as a true blessing to have known her or been a part of Her life. Her kindness and compassionate spirit will be felt for years to come when you think of all the memories you made and time you spent together. Hold on to those moments with joy till we get her back.
Clara is survived by her husband of 48 years, Billy Collins of Tomahawk, Ky; three children, Billie Goins of Frankfort, KY, Amanda (James) McCoy and Jeremy (Leidi Valle) Collins both of Tomahawk, KY and four grandsons, Demetrius Goins, Ethan McCoy, Kipton McCoy and Lachlan Collins.
