David Leroy Collins

David Leroy Collins, 83, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, Papa, Uncle, and friend whose quiet strength and steadfast love left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

David was born in Horry County and the son of the late John D and Flossie Collins. David was a Veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served our Country. David dedicated over 40 years working for Dupont-Florence until his retirement. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church where he found joy and fellowship in the Oak Tree Class where he formed lifelong friends.
David was married to the love of his life, Della where they shared 60 beautiful years together before her passing in 2023. They built a beautiful life together through hard work, devotion, and love.

Together, they created a home filled with laughter, family and enduring faith-a true reflection of their commitment to one another. David treasured his 2 Grandchildren, Adam and Joshua! He enjoyed time spent fishing, telling stories, and sharing life lessons that will be remembered for generations. We will treasure those simple moments that reflected Dad's gentle heart and deep love for us. He loved the simple joys of life-fishing with friends, gardening, and hosting a good pig roast and fish fry back in the day.

Surviving are his beloved children, Alan Collins (Leslie) of Florence; Kim Collins Wallace (Shawn) of Lexington, SC; Grandchildren, Joshus Collins (Madisen) of Lexington, SC; Adam Wallace of Lexington, SC along with many Nieces and Nephews. David was predeceased by his precious wife, Della, Parents and his siblings, Marie, Laverne, Hazel, Elsie, and Harry.

The memories shared of Dad's laughter, his steady presence, and his stories told, will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who loved him most. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever guide and surround our family with love.
A celebration of life service will be held at Marion Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 with burial to follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. Family will receive visitors from 2:00-3:00 with service beginning at 3:00pm. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page for those unable to attend.
Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the Marion Baptist Church family, McLeod Hospice, and Dad's many special friends.
