Clyde Clinton Love, age 98 years 11 months and 13 days.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at Dossman's Funeral
Home in Belton, TX.
Services will be at 2 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Dossman's Funeral
Home in Belton, TX. Burial will follow at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Salado, TX.
Clyde passed peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 1 a.m.
Clyde Love was one of twelve children, born September 16, 1924, in Pharr, TX, son of
William Byrd Love and Martha Rose Zetta (Graham) Love.
He married Frankie Jane Curb on September 16, 1943, at the Bell County
Courthouse, Belton, TX.
The Love's lived in Central Texas until they made their home in Southern California in
1955. He lived and worked there for 37 years, then retired. They traveled from
Texas to California in their motor home for several years. He enjoyed dirt bike and
motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening, painting (with Bob Ross as his
coach), playing guitar, singing in church and hosting singing's in their home. He also
loved going to Bluegrass Festivals with Frankie. He memorized over 100 songs. They
were members of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Belton, TX.
While in California, Clyde and Frankie helped over 60 people in their home that
needed help in one way or another, either by sharing a meal or having a place to
stay until they were on their feet again.
He is preceded in death by his wife Frankie, two sons Ronnie and Dale,
grandchildren Abigail Sheffield and Ryan Arkenberg and great grandchild Kayleigh
Smith.
Surviving sons include Roger Love, Holland, TX and Lee Love, Bell County, TX.
Surviving daughters include Jane Sheffield, Belton, TX and BJ Arkenberg, Paradise,
CA. Surviving sister Daisy Ebert, Moffat, TX.
Clyde had 17 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.
