Connie Sue Buchanan, a beloved resident of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, at Bluegrass Care & Rehab in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on April 10, 1953, in Frankfort, Connie lived a fulfilling life rooted deeply in her community, surrounded by those she cherished.
Connie worked for IBM during her earlier years, where she displayed a strong work ethic and dedication.
Connie was a woman of varied interests, all of which she pursued with passion and enthusiasm. She was particularly fond of animals and shared her love for them through her time spent riding horses and caring for her cherished cats. An avid reader, she found joy in the pages of books and expressed her creative soul through art and drawing. Social at heart, Connie enjoyed shopping and dining out, pursuits that often included the loved ones who were central to her life.
Her greatest pride and joy were her loved ones, especially her granddaughter, Abigail Adams, who was a bright light in her life. Connie is survived by her son, Jason Buchanan, her daughter who bears her name, Connie Sue Buchanan, and her sister, Glenda Johnson, all residents of Frankfort. Her legacy of love extends to her granddaughter, Abigail, and nephews, Bobby Joe Casey of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Harold Jean Peffer of Florida. Preceding her in death were her parents, James Casey and Dorothy (Carrier) Casey, her brother, John Layne Casey, Jackie Wayne Casey, and sister, Doris Jean Kincaid.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Clark Legacy Center Chapel on Versailles Road in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
