CONSTANCE BAIRD
Constance Annette Gies Baird was born on Aug. 26, 1936 in Loveland, Colorado. Connie was the eldest child of Arthur Gies and Mayta Wacker Gies. She was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Loveland on March 20, 1937 and was confirmed on Aug. 26, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland.
Connie passed to her heavenly reward and added her lovely soprano voice to the heavenly choir on Dec. 13, 2017. She passed at her home in Sahuarita, AZ in the arms of her beloved and loving husband Tom.
Connie was a multi-talented person. During her working life, she was a system analyst at Bank of America and a computer programmer at IBM. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing in piano/organ duets at her church, as well as singing in the church choir. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed making miniature doll houses, all their furnishings, and miniature room vignettes. Connie was a rubber stamper, and members of her church enjoyed receiving birthday and anniversary cards that she made. At church, Connie was recognized as "the hat lady," since she loved to wear turn of the 20th-century-style hats at services. Connie loved to travel, particularly on cruises and to visit family and friends in her hometown.
In addition to her husband, Connie is survived by her children, Robert L. Noyes Jr., Russell S. Noyes (Marcella), and Christopher A. Noyes (April), sister, Julia B. Ashby, and aunt, Patricia A. Stager. Connie is also survived by three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Arthur P. Gies.
A celebration of Connie's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2017 at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior, 555 S. La Cañada Blvd., Green Valley, Arizona 85614. Memorial donations may be sent to the church, marked for the music fund.
