David P. Bain, 56, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with his loving family by his side, after a recent diagnosis of Stage IV Colon Cancer.
Dave was born in Elgin, Illinois, to the late James and Mary Ella (Kister) Bain. After graduating high school, and taking a few years to find himself, Dave joined the United States Navy Reserve. He served his country honorably from August 10, 1996, until June 24, 2004, when he separated from the Navy as a P03/E4. For the past 38 years, Dave worked as a General Superintendent, and was employed by Burn McDonnell at the time of his passing.
On October 27, 2011, Dave married his best friend, Beverly Rogalla, at a destination wedding in Punta Cana. They later celebrated their union in Wausau, surrounded by friends and family.
Dave was a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved being outdoors, whether he was grilling, golfing, camping, or hunting, he found happiness spending time with nature. Dave also loved to travel and going to the casino. But most important to Dave, was his family and friends. He loved playing baseball and football with his kids when they were young. He loved being papa and spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could. Dave was so proud of his family, and even though his job took him all over the country, his heart was always home with them.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Bev; children, Jeremy Damask, Janelle (Jamie) Ostrowski, Kristina Bain, Sarah (Thomas) Elliot, Anthony (Tanya Kremer) Damask, Andrea Damask, and Amanda (Martin) Beranek; grandchildren, Kaydence, Ayden, Axel, Mason, Evelyn, Marek, Aubrey, Carter, and Timothy; as well as many extended friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother Steven.
A celebration of life for Dave will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Homestead on 52, 162765 State Highway 52, Wausau. There will be Words of Remembrance at 11:00 AM, with a visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Friends and family are asked to go to www.bestefh.com to share online condolences and words of remembrance.
Bev and her family would like to thank all of their family and friends for their love and support through these difficult days.
