David Donald Mitchell was a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. On, Thursday, May 2, 2024, after a serving and providing over the 70 years of his life, God granted him peace as he journeyed to his heavenly home.
David was born, December 27, 1953, in Glasgow, Kentucky, a son of the late David F. Mitchell and Jennie Elizabeth Curry. David was a member of the Bearwallow Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Hart County High School and served his country for 20 years in the United States Army. Upon returning home David was employed for 10 years by Eaton Axle/Bendix Corporation.
David married the love of his life Theresa Handley, on, July 19, 1974, in Hodgenville, Kentucky. The 49 years they spent sharing and making memories with their children, family and friends, will forever be treasured. David in his leisure enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all being with his family.
To cherish the memory of David Donald Mitchell he leaves his loving and devoted wife, Theresa Mitchell; children, David D. Mitchell, Jr, Calhoun, Georgia, and Talia Shaunta Mitchell, Independence, Kentucky; sisters, Carolyn Handley, Shelia Mitchell, Luticia Shirley, Rene Jones; brothers, Robert (Janie) Garvin, Jimmie (Betty) Mitchell, James (Kathey) Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Allen Martin; mother in-law, Shirley Handley and brother in-law William Handley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
