Donald (Don) Leslie Morgan born August 9, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in Federal Way, Washington. Don gave testimony of being ready to leave this earthly world and go on to be with Jesus in heaven.
Don is survived by his wife of 56 years Loretta Ann (Moravek) Morgan, five children: Susan (Harvey) Lipskoch of Hagerman, Idaho; Donald R. Morgan (Jennifer Luther) of Lincoln, Nebraska; Laura (Jerry) Parsons of Castle Rock, Colorado; Lisa (Ken) Archer of Heartland, Texas; and Sara Morgan of Federal Way, Washington. Two step-children: Lance (Deborah) Dixon of Tucson, Arizona and Danielle Dixon of Denver, Colorado. One brother: Richard (Jalene) Morgan of Mt. Dora, Florida. One sister-in-law: Rosemarie Proper of Federal Way, Washington. Fourteen grandchildren: 50 great grandchildren: six great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Lafayette Morgan and Helen (Coltrain) Morgan, two sisters, Betty and Carol and one brother, Robert.
Don moved with his family from Michigan to Miami, Florida when he was about eight years old. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1948 and served our country in Germany. He returned home to Florida in 1951 and married his first wife, Shirley Jean (Jones) Morgan Holtan. Four children were born to this union, Susan, Donald, Laura, and Lisa. During his early adult years he worked for Southern Bell (AT&T) in Miami and also began working with his father in construction. He went on to work as a general contractor in the Miami area for many years while maintaining his job at the telephone company.
Don and Loretta were married on November 24, 1967 in Miami, Florida. They then made the decision to move to Colorado Springs, Colorado in the summer of 1969 where Don began working in commercial construction in many areas of eastern Colorado which he continued for many years. Later he started a home inspection business working in the Denver area for many years. In 1981 Don and Loretta adopted their daughter Sara. Then in 1993 they again re-located to Kent, Washington where Don began another business doing home inspections working with many local realtors and banks in the Seattle area.
After Don retired, he kept busy with his many home projects. It was always a family joke that he would never live in a completed home because he was always remodeling something. During these later years he also began taking the time to entertain visiting family members with his many life stories and adventures.
