Donna E Cody

Donna E Cody passed away of a long term illness at the age of 74 at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital on December 25, 2022. Her hometown was Pleasant Grove, Alabama. She was a graduate of Hueytown High School. She is survived by her husband of 42 years of marriage Eugene J Cody, Daughter Monica Gray, husband Bobby Gray, Stepdaughter Susan LeCroy husband Mark LeCroy, Grandchildren Chyna Scholl, Chasey Scholl, Hayden Gray, Alex LeCroy wife Lacey LeCroy, William LeCroy. She is preceded by her Father Floyd Earley, Mother Edna Earley, Sister Sheila Johnson. After graduating High School Donna worked her way up to management at BellSouth and retired after 35 years. Once retired she spent time working again as a substitute teacher, customer service representative for AT&T and short-lived airline stewardess. During her down time she was the best Nana anyone could have! She loved her grandchildren and would do anything for them. Traveling was one of her passions and she went on many trips with her family and friends. From foreign trips to European countries to cruising Southeastern countries, Alaska, and Hawaii. She also enjoyed cross county road trips. Along her way she would read books. She could read a full novel in a half of a day! Boating and Motorcycle riding was also another pass time of hers. After losing their home from the tornado on April 27,2011 her and Eugene Cody moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama where they loved taking their dogs to the beach for walks. Most of all she was a wonderful beautiful woman and Mother who gave the best advice and direction. She truly gave her heart in everything she did! She will be missed tremendously! Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2023, 11:00AM-12:00PM with the funeral service beginning at 12:00PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Larry Turner officiating.
