Edward "Ed" Louis Masterson

Edward "Ed" Louis Masterson, 76, of Malone, Florida, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Ed was the cherished husband of Patricia H Masterson, father of Shane (Donna) Masterson, Susan (Kyle)Jones, grandfather of Aaron Masterson, Ashley (Ben) Gates, Molly (Sage) BoWell, Kyler Jones, great-grandfather to Gavin Masterson, Charlie Gates and his brother, John Masterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Masterson and Edna Huggins Mabis, Bedy Hurn (father-in-law) and Patrica Stojcich Hurn (mother-in-law). Ed was a devoted pastor for over 40 years, serving his congregation with unwavering faith and compassion. His dedication to his ministry was evident in his tireless work and the profound impact on the lives that he touched are so vast that we cannot even begin to list everyone that has loved him and he loved. From his time as Pastor in 7 different churches in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana, to working as a professor at the NOBTS night school, to Chaplin for the State of Florida Corrections department at Liberty, Apalachee and Jackson Facilities…he has severed the Lord with Gladness. Outside of his pastoral duties, Ed was passionate about his family and photography. In his earlier days he loved to fish, hunt and golf. We are so proud of his Christian walk and how Jesus used him as a vessel to minister and touch so many. We are thankful for the mercy and forgiveness he demonstrated to us and others. We are grateful he would stand with us when no one else would! Not only was he a man of God but a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. We only shed tears of joy for we know he is walking with Jesus on the streets of gold. A celebration of Ed's life will take place on August 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm CST, the family will start welcoming at 1:00 pm CST at Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Alliance, Florida, 5779 Hansford Road, Marianna, Florida. Friends and family are welcome to attend. All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
