Edward Jasper "Eddie" Rogers Jr.

Edward "Eddie" Jasper Rogers Jr., age 83 of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born to the late Edward jasper Rogers Sr. and Stella Denton Rogers in Chattanooga, was a lifelong resident of Rossville and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. Eddie retired from Dupont in 2001 after more than 38 years and was a foster parent for 144 children in his 83 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, of 38 years, Sharon Cox Rogers; daughters, Jamie Pope, Tammie Hickey, Norma Rogers, and Brenda Wall; and brother, Charles "Bud" Rogers. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, of 9 years, Karen Luce; children, Barbara (Mike) Sulivan, Clayton Brock, John Buck (Darla) Rogers, Sandra Johnson, Sara Sloan, Jay (Cathy) Rogers, Medley (Michael) Tapley, and Jason Ellis; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Celebration for Eddie will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Charity Baptist Church, 1617 Glowmont Dr. East Ridge, TN 37412. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday and from 10:30 am until the service time on Friday at the church. Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
