Lillian "MawMaw" Barrett, age 100, resident of Chickamauga, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Mrs. Barrett, daughter of the late Samuel Taylor Humphrey and Minnie Lee Robinson Humphrey, was born February 28,1925 in Harrison, Tennessee. She was a longtime member of Canaan Baptist Church and retired from Crystal Springs Bleachery where she faithfully worked for over 34 years. Mrs. Barrett was a pastor's wife, where he pastored churches in the North Georgia region for several years. She always looked forward to taking trips with the ladies from the church. Mrs. Barrett enjoyed gardening, particularly her flowers. At home, she loved cooking for family and friends, listening to Southern Gospel music, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. Most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. The family remembers her as a totally devoted Christian and a "MawMaw" to everyone.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin A. Barrett; two sisters, and five brothers.
Mrs. Barrett is survived by two sons, Donald (Lynda) Barrett and Connie (Kathy) Barrett; one brother, David (Beverly) Humphreys; three grandchildren, Lisa (Randy) Daniels, Lance (Jennifer) Barrett, and Lindsey (Ken) Stapleton; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm - Sunday - November 2, 2005 at Coulter Cemetery, Chickamauga, Georgia with Reverend Joe Gill officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Canaan Baptist Church, 4318 13th Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
