Elaine J. Murphy

Elaine J. (Ptaszkiewicz) Murphy, 69, of Peabody, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Springfield, MA to the late Theodore and Jane (Burek) Ptaszkiewicz, Elaine grew up in Indian Orchard, and was a graduate of Springfield Commerce High School class of 1971. Elaine relocated to the North Shore 15 years ago to be closer to her daughter Erin.
She worked for Bay State Medical Center in Springfield for 30 years, and then for Mass General Brigham for the past 15 years; first at NS Physicians Group and then Partners Health Care at Home.
Elaine loved to travel, meet up with friends, enjoyed wine tastings, and reading. Most especially, she loved spending time with her family; her daughter Erin and granddaughter Sonya, and her siblings.
Elaine is survived by her daughter Erin and her fiancé Alex Saltzman of Peabody, her granddaughter Sonya, her siblings and their spouses; Mildred Metcalf, Dorothy McGuire, Irene Zaranek, Eugene Ptaszkiewicz, Sandra Moquin, Linda Banas, Susan Mitchell, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings; JoAnn Melikian, Vera Dunn, Thomas Ptaszkiewicz, Robert Ptaszkiewicz, Elizabeth Soja, James Ptaszkiewicz and Kenneth Ptaszkiewicz.
Memorial Visitation for Elaine will take place on Thursday August 31, 2023 from 4-6PM at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn, with a memorial service at 5:30PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
