RICHMOND, IN– Elizabeth J. "Liz" Shinkle, age 81, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Reid Health.
Liz was born September 12, 1943, in Heidelberg, Kentucky, to Robert and Ruth Matthews Moore, and was a graduate of Beattyville High School. Liz worked at Gennett Records where she met her future husband, David Robertson. She later worked at Reid Health for 34 ½ years where she was known for her joyful and contagious smile. Liz was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was involved with BSF, the Mary Martha Circle, and served on the Family Life Board aka "The Party Girls". She enjoyed reading, walking, water aerobics, and spending time with, babysitting, and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include daughters, Jill, Jennifer, and Jan Robertson; grandchildren, Aleigha (Jon) Park, Dilyn (Stacia) Robertson, Zachary Boroff, Logan Merritt, Makinna Merritt, Chloe Robertson, and Brinklee Merritt; great grandchildren, Ryder Robertson, Marlowe Park, Cleo Park, Ember Robertson, and Willow Park; sister, Kathy Moore; brother Glen Moore; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Robertson; second husband, Paul E. "Skip" Shinkle Jr.; parents; daughter, Alicia Robertson; and brother, Danny Moore.
Visitation for Elizabeth J. "Liz" Shinkle will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 1601 South A Street, Richmond, Indiana with Pastor Branden Pahl officiating. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
