Richard L. "Rick" Hamm Jr.

RICHMOND, IN– Richard L. "Rick" Hamm Jr., age 70, of Richmond, Indiana, lost his valiant battle with cancer on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Reid Health.
Born March 28, 1955, in Richmond, Indiana, to Richard L. and Phyllis J. Pierson Hamm Sr., Rick lived all of his life in Wayne County. He was Vice President of Paul Casket Co. before retiring after 45 years. Rick also enjoyed working at Waskom's Funeral Home and Doan & Mills Funeral Home. A special thanks to Sherry Ross at SMR Research for keeping him busy after his retirement from Paul Casket. He was a member of Jacksonburg Christian Church and was a founding member of Fuel Injectors Car Club. Rick enjoyed helping his brother, Ron, in go- kart and midget racing, and loved slot car racing at Fast Eddie's. He also enjoyed painting anything from caskets to slot cars. Above all else, Rick loved watching his grandkids in their sport activities and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Melanie Munchel Hamm; daughters, Mandy (Rob) Livingston, Angie (Doug) Snyder, and Stacie (Josh) Davis; grandchildren, Austin (Susie), Kayli (Raed), Kenzie (Alex), Trey, Katie, Justin, Zach (Trysten), Jake (Lanie), and Noah (Janette); 5 great grandchildren; father and step mother, Dick and Debbie Hamm; nieces; nephews; cousins; many friends, including his slot car racing family; and his dog, Chewy.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Ron Hamm; sister, Roxanne Lynne Moore; and uncles, Duane Hamm and Larry Pierson.
Visitation for Richard L. "Rick" Hamm Jr. will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Jamie Fagan officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City, Indiana..
