Joe Hamm Obituary

Raymond Joseph "Joe" Hamm, 55, of Fremont, gained his Heavenly wings and joined our Lord and savior October 22, 2025 in Westlake, Ohio, after a recent Illness. Those graced 55 years will forever illuminate our lives and so many others. The radiant essence he embodied will persist within our collective memories, ensuring his spirit continues to inspire us. While the current moment is marked by profound sorrow, let these tears reflect the boundless love shared with him and those he held so dear. Though a temporary separation exists, we are confident that we will reunite in eternal joy.
Joe was born in Sandusky July 12, 1970 to Raymond L. and Margaret (Lawson) Hamm. He graduated from Sandusky High School, Class of 1989, and shortly after graduation joined the Navy - following his family's footsteps. He was a veteran of The Gulf War and served in the Navy for over 9 years. He then worked at Kraft Heinz for 25 years. He loved playing in corn hole tournaments and was involved in dart league. He loved all sports, but was a die hard football fan for Ohio State and The Pittsburgh Steelers. His favorite past time was enjoying the company of family and friends. His love had no bounds for those he cared for and his family extended far beyond those connected by blood.
Joe is survived by loving parents, in Sandusky; sister, Debra Gallagher, of Sandusky, and Ashlie (Adam) Oney, of Wakeman; sons, Jamal (Cassondra) McMorris, of Bloomville, and Tyler Newell, of Fremont; grandchildren, Nolan, Torry, Kelvin, and Joanna, all of Bloomville; nephews, Thomas Gallagher, Joshua LeJeune, and Jerimiah and Jameson Oney; nieces, CheyeAnne Kline, Jenna-Marie LeJeune, and Juli-Anna and Jazmine Oney; aunt, Lynn and uncle Eugene Lawson; aunts, Margaret Jenkins, Lula Huffman, Judy Lawson, and Donna Johnson; uncle, Dallas Hamm; and his forever baby, Michelle Newell-Hamm.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Dolly Maude (Ritchie) Hamm and Gilbert and Yvonne (Winebarger) Lawson; uncles, Robert Lawson, Johnny Johnson, Harold Jenkins, Jack Huffman, and Anzie, Robert, Roy, and Wiley Hamm; and aunts, Carolyn, Billie, Virginia, Eulane and Helen Hamm, and Margie Owens.
Friends may call Monday, October 27 from 4-6 pm at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
