Evelyn Virgina Wright

Evelyn V. Wright (Evie), a long-time resident of Springfield (Delco) in Pennsylvania, died March 26th, 2023, surrounded by her close family. She was born in Darby, PA, and was the only daughter of Emma James and Jot S. Bennett. After starting off as an elementary school teacher, Evie met and married her beloved husband Robert (Bob), who she was married to for 56 years before he passed away in 2014. She was a devoted and caring mother to four boys.

Evie was a devout Christian, an active church member of Springfield Baptist Church, and shared the love of Jesus Christ with anyone she encountered. She co-led The National Day of Prayer (Delco), led many Bible studies, sold Christian Books for a time, taught adult Sunday school, and helped with the children during Vacation Bible school until she died. She was also an active member of women's AGLOW and always tried to help friends and people in need.

She joins her Savior Jesus Christ and her husband Bob in heaven and is survived by her four boys, Dave (Lissa) of Birmingham, AL; Dan (Leslie) of Springfield, PA; Darren (Judith) of Woodbine, MD; and Rob (Susan) of Ridley Park, PA; as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation with a Memorial Service to follow will be held at Springfield Baptist Church Friday, May 19th, at 2:00pm. Flowers are gratefully declined.
