Obituary of Gary VanDivort Wilson
Gary VanDivort Wilson, beloved brother, father, uncle, and friend, passed away January 3, 2024. He was born on St. Patrick's Day March 17, 1957, in Oroville, CA, to Rex and Nancy (Wegs) Endicott. However, due to divorce, he was put in foster care. He was lovingly adopted at two years of age by Jim and Gayle Wilson and grew up with his sisters, Marcia Wilson Russell and Janice Wilson Dean. Gary is survived by his two adult children, Zachary and Alyssa of Roseville. He dearly loved time spent with his nephews: Troy Wilson, Michael Wilson and wife Monica, and Jonathan Wilson and wife Magnolia, and Jeremy Dean. He is also survived by his full sibling Melody Peters and brother-in-law Ernie and their children: Jennifer, Jared, and Nathan. Gary also has a half-brother Blake Bowser with whom he connected in recent years as well as nieces Casey and Crysta Mitchell, who were fortunate to see him at a mini-family reunion of the Endicott clan in Medford, OR, in June. His half-sisters Keri and Leslie Wegs will also dearly miss him. The special times he spent with family are cherished by all.
Throughout his life Gary discovered great happiness in serving and helping others. He retained friendships with childhood friends and made many friends through work over the years. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence in our minds and hearts will continue to inspire and uplift us. If you knew Gary, you loved him. Our forever memories of this amazing man are filled with laughter, love, and joy, which are some of the many blessings left by his presence on earth. He loved music, and there are many songs that will remind us of Gary and keep him close in our hearts.
