On the evening of April 26, 2023 George Alfred Sliker passed away peacefully at home. He was surrounded by family and friends. George was 95 years old.
George was born in Orange, N.J. to Ernest & Madge Sliker in 1927. He resided in West Orange until 1945 when he was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army. In 1952 he married Barbara W. Sliker.
He founded Sliker Machine Werkes LLC in 1960, which continued operation until his retirement in 2017. George then moved onto Horology. George was an active member of the Spotswood Reformed Church for 53 years. He served on the board of directors for both Woodmere, and Crescent Park Senior Housing for 38 years, 19 of which he was Board President.
George is preceded in death by his father Ernest, his mother Madge, his brothers Billy and James. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Barbara W. Sliker, his dear sister Shirley Sliker, daughter Lyndy, two sons Dean and David, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Spotswood Reformed Church on May 21, 2023, starting at 2:00 PM. A repass at the church will immediately follow.
