Obituary published on Legacy.com by Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home - Turtle Creek from Mar. 14 to Mar. 15, 2021.

Of Wilkins Township, formerly of Turtle Creek, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday March 12, 2021. Born on December 24, 1936, to the late Samuel and Mary (O'Boyle) Evashavik. Bucky is survived by his loving Wife of 62 years, Carol "Greta" (Garber), and his four children, Gregory (Sherry), Honorable Susan Evashavik DiLucente (Phil), Gretchen, and Nicholas (Jen). Cherished grandfather of Anna, Caroline, Luke, and Ben Evashavik. Also survived by his sister, Sally Paladin.

Bucky was a star football player and 1954 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. He earned multiple college scholarship offers, and selected Northwestern University, where he met his wife Carol. He then graduated from Dickinson School of Law, following which he had a successful and distinguished legal career, which spanned 60 years. Bucky was a skilled trial attorney, who tried over 500 jury trials, and was a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers. He proudly represented the Port Authority of Allegheny County and served as solicitor to numerous local municipalities. Bucky's children joined him in his law practice, which brought him great joy.

Bucky was an avid golfer and a member of Edgewood Country Club for over 50 years, where he served a term as Board President, and led the round table where he was known as the "Stammtisch." Bucky enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cooking, and traveling. He had a zest for life, an ability to make people feel comfortable, and a love of complex and elaborate pranks. He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be private.

This is such sad news. I have fond memories of Gerry. He always had a kind word and a wry smile. We had many cases together and he was the epitome of a professional.
